ATTLEBORO, Mass. – Elms College sophomore pitcher Courtney Hampton (Westfield, Mass.) earned New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Pitcher of the Week honors, while freshman designated player/infielder Sarah Buckley (Wilbraham, Mass.) was named the league’s rookie of the week for the week of April 5-11 as announced by the conference on Monday.

Hampton earned four victories in four appearances in the circle, pacing the Blazers to a 6-0 week against NECC competition. Hampton tossed 24 innings giving up 11 runs, nine earned, on 27 hits en route to a 3.38 ERA. She also fanned 18 batters and surrendered just six walks during the six-game week to secure her first conference accolade of the season.

Buckley was a force at the dish during the week, picking up 11 hits in 20 at bats (.550 average) with two triples, a double and 12 RBI. Buckley, whose 11 hits was a team high through the six games, also scored a team-best nine runs. She also drew four walks and was 3 for 3 in stolen base attempts to help Elms to a trio of NECC doubleheader sweeps. This is Buckley's first collegiate career conference honor.
