Cross Country Runs at Blazer Invitational

CHICOPEE, Mass. – The Elms College cross country teams found success while hosting the 2016 Blazer Invitational at Chicopee State Park Saturday morning.

The women's squad posted a sixth-place finish, led by junior Sarah Tatgenhorst (Winterport, Maine), who crossed the finish line seventh-overall with a time of 26:31. The Blazers duo of freshmen Ariah Willemain (Belchertown, Mass.) and Emma Morton (Southwick, Mass.) crossed the finish line at the exact time of 30:40 to finish 36th and 37th, respectively. Junior Sarah Kaczenski (Northfield, Mass.) followed in 38th with a time of 31:02, while sophomore Mary Kirsimagi (Stephentown, N.Y.) rounded out the women's squad at 40th with a time of 31:09.

On the men's side, senior Joshua Rolon Diaz (Chicopee, Mass.) checked in at 37th with a personal-best time of 35:24 in his final run at the Blazer Invitational.

The Blazers will race next at the James Earley Invitational, hosted by Westfield State University, on October 8th at Stanley Park.
