Cross Country Finds Success At James Earley Invitational

WESTFIELD, Mass. – The Elms College men's and women's cross country squads found success at the 21^st annual James Earley Invitational, hosted by Westfield State University, at Stanley Park Saturday afternoon.

On the women's side, junior Sarah Tatgenhorst (Winterport, Maine) broke her own school record in a 6k race, posting a time 25:20, besting her prior record of 25:34 set at the 2014 Division III Regional Championship. Sophomore Mary Kirsimagi (Stephentown, N.Y.), and freshmen Emma Morton (Southwick, Mass.) and Emily Guillerault (East Granby, Mass.) each registered new personal best at the event. Kirsimagi clocked in at 29:24, followed right behind by junior Sarah Kaczenski (Northfield, Mass.) at 29:25, while Morton posted a time of 29:37 and Guillerault came in at 31:29.

For the men, freshman Rich Hernandez (North Branford, Conn.) made a mark in his 8k debut, registering the eighth-fastest time in school history with a time of 31:32. Senior Joshua Diaz Rolon (Chicopee, Mass.) posted a time of 32:46.

The Blazers will return to the course for their final tune-up before the NECC Championship when they compete at the Western New England Invitational Saturday beginning at 10:30 a.m.
