Cross Country Unveils 2016 Schedule

CHICOPEE, Mass. – Elms College cross country Head Coach Matt Dyer (fifth season) has released the Blazers upcoming schedule for the 2016 season. The Blazers are set to participate in five events, including the Blazer Invitational, before competing in the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Championship and the New England Division III Championship.

The Blazers enter the 2016 season after having the men's squad post a third-place finish at the 2015 NECC Championship, while the women's team claimed fifth place in the conference championship.

The Green and Gold squads will on the season on the road at the Lemoyne College Invitational on September 3. Elms heads to the Trinity College Invitational in Hartford the following weekend, followed by the Blazers' annual invitational at Chicopee Memorial Park on September 24.

Elms opens October with a race at the James Earley Invitational on October 8 in Westfield. The Blazers will compete at the Western New England University Invitational in Springfield on October 15 in their final tune-up before the NECC Championship race at Stanley Park in Westfield on October 29. The Blazers will run at the New England DIII Championships back at Stanley Park on November 12, where bids for the NCAA DIII Championship (Nov. 19) are on the line.
