Cross Country Opens The Season at LeMoyne Invitational

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Elms College men's and women's cross country squads kicked off the 2016 season with races at the LeMoyne Short Course Invitational Saturday afternoon.

On the men's side, freshman Rich Hernandez (North Branford, Conn.) finished 42nd overall in his first collegiate run, recording a time of 26:37.42. Senior Joshua Diaz Rolon (Chicopee, Mass.) checked in at 53rd overall with a time of 29:08.71.

For the women, junior Sarah Tatgenhorst (Winterport, Maine) placed 15th with a time of 18:15.47. Freshman Ariah Willemain (Belchertown, Mass.) finished 33rd in her first collegiate appearance, clocking in a t 22:10.46. Junior Sarah Kaczenski (Northfield, Mass.) took 38th with a time of 22:45.91, while freshman Emma Morton (Southwick, Mass.) placed 42nd in her first collegiate race with a time of 23:22.12.

The Blazers will be back on the trail when they travel to the Trinity College Invitational Saturday afternoon.
