Trifon Bish Claims DIII New England Long Jump Championship

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – Elms College senior Trifon Bish (St. Catherine, Jamaica) became the first athlete in program history to claim a Division III New England Championship at the Division III New England Championships at Williams College Friday.

Bish claimed first in the long jump event, leaping to a mark of 7.28 meters, finishing more than half a meter better than his competition. Junior Donald Whittle (Somers, Conn.) used a jump of 6.74 meters to capture third-place in the event. The Blazers men's team placed 16^th overall out of 32 teams competing.
