ESSEX FELLS, N.J. – The Elms College men's and women's swim teams earned Fall 2012 Scholar All-America team honors as announced by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) on Tuesday.

Over 500 college and university teams across NCAA Divisions I, II and III have achieved the honor.

The Team Scholar All-America award is presented to college and university swimming and diving teams, who have achieved a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher. The award is presented to teams achieving this standard in the fall semester and in the semester of the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships (Winter/Spring).

The CSCAA is the oldest coaches organization in America.  In addition to Scholar All American Awards, the CSCAA recognizes All American Swimmers and Divers at the national championships every year.

Elms' men's team earned a 3.11 GPA – the highest of both New England Intercollegiate Swimming and Diving Association (NEISDA) member schools, and is the only Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) representative on the list.

The Blazers' women's team earned a collective GPA of 3.42 and were ranked first among the seven NEISDA teams and four GNAC teams on the list.
