Keefe and Pearce Finish Top 5 in GNAC Golf Championship

SACO, ME- The Elms College Men's Golf team finished in third at the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Men's Golf Championship this past Monday and Tuesday. Sophomore Michael Keefe finished 3rd overall in the championship, followed by teammate first year Miguel Pearce who finished in 5th.

COURSE NOTES

  • Front Nine: Par 35 - 3,192 yards
  • Back Nine: Par 36 - 3,166 yards
  • Total: Par 71 - 6,358 yards

Elms' sophomore Mike Keefe (Milford, MA) led the tournament, tied with SJC senior Tyler Flanagan (Monmouth, Maine) for Round 1, each shooting a 75 (+4) on the day.

Following closely behind was Elms' first year Migueal Pearce (Guilford, Conn.), carding a 79 (+8) which also included a 37 (+1) on the back side of the course. Pearce was the only other golfer to break 80 for the day.

Elms College finished the tournament in third at 667 (335-332) after the final round on Tuesday. The Blazers were led by Keefe who finished the day in third carding an 80, shooting a 155 overall for the tournament. Pearce would also finish in the top 5 finishing in fifth place carding an 80 for round 2 and shooting a 159 overall.

SCORECARDS
The lowest five scores will automatically be named to the GNAC All-Conference Team following round-two play on Tuesday, while the individual medalist will be named the Player of the Year and the rookie with the lowest total will be named Rookie of the Year.
