
Piscioneri Named Head Coach of Elms Men's Basketball
CHICOPEE, Mass. - Elms College Athletic Director Rob Southall announced this week that Chris Piscioneri will be the College's new Head Coach for Men's Basketball.
"We are excited to have Chris join the Blazer Family, his background in coaching at multiple levels of collegiate men's basketball and working on staffs of very successful coaches makes him the ideal leader," said Southall. "We here at Elms are looking forward to watching the program's growth under Chris' leadership".
Most recently, Piscioneri served as an assistant coach at Nebraska Wesleyan University (NCAA Div. III). Serving under two-time National Coach of the Year, Dale Wellmen, the Prairie Wolves would finish the 2023-2024 regular season as the American Rivers Conference Regular Season Champions with a 26-5 record, the third best in program history, and reach the Elite Eight in the NCAA Div. III Tournament, and finish the season ranked number 9 in the D3Hoops.com NCAA Div. III Top 25 Poll.
Prior to his time at Nebraska Wesleyan, Piscioneri would serve as an assistant coach at Elmira College for two seasons, an special assistant at St. Bonaventure University (NCAA Div. I) for two seasons, and as a graduate assistant at Vermont State University-Castleton for three seasons. The North Adams native would also serve time as an assistant coach at his alma mater Massachusetts College for Liberal Arts (MCLA) and head junior varsity coach for Drury High School.
Piscioneri is a 2013 graduate of MCLA where he received his bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. He later graduated from Castleton University in 2019 with a Master of Science degree in Athletic Leadership and a Master of Science in Sport Psychology from Capella University in 2024.
