Baseball Suffers Setback At Home In Non-Conference Action

Holyoke, MA – The Elms College Baseball team hosted the Eastern Connecticut State University Warriors on Thursday evening in non-conference action. The Blazers would battel back from a four run deficit but were unable to pick up the win, and would drop the home game 7-5.

The Warriors would get their four run lead by platting one run in the top of the 3rd and three more in the 4th. The Blazers would answer in the bottom of the 4th pushing two runs across the plate on a Cam Griffin (West Springfield, MA) double and a Kevin Banas (Hatfield, MA) ground out.

Elms would ride that momentum into the bottom of the 5th and put up a three spot and take a 5-4 lead on a two RBI single from Nate Ayala (Springfield, MA) and a RBI single from Banas.

The Blazers would hold onto the lead until the 8th. ECSU would go back on top with three big runs and hold Elms off of the board in their final two at bats to take the win 7-5.

Cole Orgorzalek would come in out of the bullpen and pitch two scoreless innings to get the win.

Mason Scott (Ludlow, MA) would take loss for the Blazers.

Elms will host New England College in a big NECC doubleheader at 12pm and 2pm.
