Alvernia 8, Elms 1

The Golden Wolves spread out 13 hits but came up big in the 7th with 6 runs to take the 8-1 win.

The Blazers took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the 3rd on a sac fly for Cam Griffin (West Springfield, MA.) that scored Kris Alverado (Springfield, MA.).

The Golden Wolves would tie thing up in the 5th, take the lead in the 6th and put up 6 runs in the 7th to secure the 8-1 victory.

Alvernia 3, Elms 2

Game 2 would have a dramatic finish with Alvernia walking off with the win.

The Blazers would take the lead in the 6th on a double for Thomas Slain (Tolland, CT.) scoring Alex Hoss (Stafford Springs, CT.). Alvernia would battle back and tie things up in the bottom of the frame.

Elms would take the lead right back in the top of the seventh when Autin Roy (Cromwell, CT.) scored on a base hit up the middle.

The Blazers intentionally walked an Alvernia batter to load the bases with no one out.  They made a pitching change, but were not able to execute and saw Alex Salesky drive the first pitch he saw to the fence in center for a walk-off single.

Brandon Bennet (Easthampton, MA.) pitched 4 scoreless innings for the Blazers. Thomas Slain (Tolland, CT.) and Austin Roy (Cromwell, CT.) both went 2 for 3.

The Blazers are back in action on Sunday with a doubleheader with Defiance College. First pitch is scheduled for 9am.
