Blazers Suffer Setback At Coast Guard

New London, CT – The Elms College Baseball Team suffered a setback on Thursday evening on the road at Coast Guard Academy 7-6.

Elms got on the board in the top of the first on an RBI single by Josh Pasini (Enfield, CT) before the Bears tied it up in the home half on an RBI ground out by Jeremy Lhotka.

Dylan Roberts gave Coast Guard a 2-1 lead with a sacrifice fly in the second before the Blazers scored three times in the third on another RBI single by Pasini, a sacrifice fly by Thomas Slane (Tolland, CT) and an RBI single by Josh Berthiaume (Pittsfield, MA) for a 4-2 lead.

Coast Guard pulled even in the home half of the third on an RBI ground out by Jon Pressley before Reed Jenkins was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to knot the game 4-4.

The Blazers took a 6-4 lead in the top of the fourth as Kris Alverado (Springfield, MA) had an RBI double before Pasini's third RBI single of the game.

Reed Jenkins' sacrifice fly in the seventh broke a 6-6 tie leading Coast Guard to the win 7-6 over Elms.

Alex Hoss and Josh Pasini each had three hits while Pasini drove in three with a trio of RBI singles as the duo had six of the Blazers seven hits.

Connor Glynn picks up his 4th win on the season for Coast Guard.

Kyle Powell took the loss in relief for Elms as he allowed the final two runs in the seventh, both unearned.

The Blazers are back in action on Saturday when they open up conference play with a doubleheader against Dean College, the time and location are TBD.
