Baseball Drops Road Game At Westfield State

Westfield, MA – The Elms College Baseball Team dropped a tough road game this evening at Westfield State University 4-1.

The Blazers would plate a run in the top of the 1st inning on a single from Cam Griffin (West Springfield, MA) that scored Alex Hoss (Stafford Springs, CT), but that would turn out to be the only Blazer run of the contest. The Owls' Alex Honey would bear down and pitch 6 strong innings keeping the Blazers off of the board.

Westfield would take the lead in the bottom of the 3rd scoring 2 runs on a single and a sacrifice fly. Elms would give the Owls another run in the 4th on a wild pitch. Westfield would grab their 4th and final run of the game in the bottom of the 6th inning on a fielder's choice and go on the take the game 4-1.

Pat Krol (Ware, MA) would be losing pitcher on record for the Blazers, Alex Honey picks up the win for Westfield.

The Blazers are back in action on Thursday when they travel to Coast Guard, first pitch is scheduled for 3:30.
