Liedke and Uschmann Take Home Weekly Awards

WINTHROP, MA - The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) has announced their weekly award selections for the week ending on April 7th, Monday evening.  

GNAC Weekly Awards Release - April 8, 2024

Elms College athletes received two awards in men's volleyball and one honor roll selection in men's volleyball. 

Graduate student Collin Liedke (Newington, CT) was named GNAC Defensive Player of the Week after showing a presence both at the net and in the back row for Elms this week. He averaged 5.45 digs per set and recorded at least one block in each match. His dig totals were in the double-digits for all three of his matches, including a 30-dig showing in a four-setter against Emerson. In total he had 60 digs and five blocks on the week.

First-year Nick Uschmann (Agawam, MA) was named GNAC Rookie of the Week after putting together a strong offensive showing to close out the regular season for Elms. He averaged 3.09 kills per set, while hitting .298. He also had at least one block per contest. He had double-digit kills against both Dean and Emerson with 10 and 15, respectively and also contributed five blocks against the Lions.

In men's volleyball, graduate student Pedro De Jesus (East Hartford, CT) was selected to the honor roll after he averaged 4.00 kills per set in a 1-2 week for Elms, while hitting .235. Also had three aces on the week.
