CHICOPEE, Mass. – The Elms College women's basketball has been selected to participate in the 2016 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III New England Region Tournament, announced by the conference office Monday.

The Blazers were given the fifth-seed in the tournament, and will travel to face fourth-seeded Endicott College Wednesday night at 7:00 p.m. at MacDonald Gymnasium in Beverly, Massachusetts. This will be Elms' first trip to the ECAC postseason tournament.

This will be the first matchup between the squads since the 1999-2000 season. In four career meetings between the squads, each side has taken two games with Elms posting wins in 1984-85 and 1985-86, while Endicott took wins in 1986-87 and 1999-00.

Elms advanced to the semifinals of the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) championship tournament, where they fell to eventual four-time champions Regis College, 60-40. The Blazers hold a 15-12 record entering the ECAC tournament, and are led by All-NECC Second Team selections Emily Burr (East Hartford, Conn.) and JC Pickett (Chicopee, Mass.).

The Gulls own a 16-11 record and enter the tournament after falling to the University of New England, 66-55, in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Semifinals. Endicott is paced by All-CCC First Team selection Kelsey Cuddy (Masidon, Conn.) and All-CCC Third Teamer Hannah Shaw (Bar Harbor, Maine).
