Quincy, MA - The Elms College softball team dropped a pair game Monday afternoon vs Eastern Nazarene College at Mitchell/McCoy Field, losing game one 8-0 and game two 16-2.
The Blazers dip to 0-12 overall and in league play with the losses.
Game One – Elms 0, ENC 8
The home side plated a pair of runs in the bottom of the first inning to construct a 2-0 lead. The Lions tacked on a run in the second to push their advantage to 3-0. Eastern Nazarene manufactured two runs in the third to widen the gap to 5-0.
The hosts stretched their lead to 7-0 with two runs in the fourth inning, and eventually took game one 8-0.
Game Two – Elms 2, ENC 16
The Blazers jumped out to an early 2-0 edge with a pair of runs in the top of the first inning. Ashley Papapietro(Windsor Locks, CT) slapped a single to knock in Tyla Risucci (Watertown, CT) and Josie Cammarata (Wolcutt, CT) followed with a sacrifice fly to score Alli Alleano (Vernon, CT).
The home side responded with two runs in the bottom of the frame to level the contest at 2-2.
The Lions utilized a 12-run outburst on 11 hits in the third inning to vault ahead 14-2. Eastern Nazarene added a pair of runs in the fourth to stretch its advantage to 16-2, taking game two 16-2.
The Blazers are back in action on Thursday 4/29 when they host New England College at 3pm and 5pm on Cheryl R. Condon.
