FITCHBURG, Mass. - The Elms College Men's Soccer team traveled to Fitchburg, Mass. for their season opener in a non-conference game against the Fitchburg State University Falcons Friday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The first half would be a close contest between the two opponents. In the 14th minute, the Blazers junior forward Jacobo Molina Ferrer (Valencia, Spain) would draw strong defensive pressure on the Falcons goalkeeper to force him to score an own-goal to give Elms an early 1-0 lead. Fitchburg would equalize the score in the 25th minute and both sides would continue to trade possession until the end of the half. The Falcons would narrowly out shoot the Blazers 8 to 7 in the opening half.
The Falcons would take the lead early in the second half after a goal scored in the 55th minute. The two sides would continue to compete until the very end with Fitchburg narrowly out shooting the Blazers 6 to 5 in the second half. Unfortunately the Falcons would keep Elms at arms length distance, winning the game 2-1.

Senior goalkeeper Aidan Berube (Chicopee, Mass.) would save 8 of the 10 shots he faced.

Molina Ferrer and junior midfielder Pajorn Drysdale (Nantucket, Mass.) would lead Elms with two shots in the afternoon.
