Liedke Holds Cadets to Only Three Goals, Ending Game With 19 Saves

CHICOPEE, MA - Blazers' senior goalkeeper Collin Liedke (Newington, CT) was unshakeable in the net tonight, denying 19 of Norwich Universities shots. The Blazers ended up falling 3-0, despite the score Elms battled till the clock ran down to zero.

How it Happened

A pair of first-half goals were too much for Elms to overcome in a 3-0 loss to Norwich. The Cadets were able to get on the scoreboard early after a 2v1 situation with Blazers' keeper Liedke. Despite the score Elms was able to capitalize on Norwich's playing style, matching their speed and reading their passes. Within the first half goalkeeper Liedke added up a total of 10 saves out of the 12 on-goal shots by the Cadets. Heading into the half Norwich would have a 2-0 lead.

In the second half Liekde would add nine more saves in the contest, finishing the game with 19 overall. The Cadets were rewarded two penalty kick opportunities, keeper Liedke was nevertheless ready to defend the net and denied both scoring opportunities. Norwich would add another goal to their lead in the 80th minute of play, they would finish the game winning 3-0.
