Tatgenhorst Nabs NECC Rookie of the Week Honors

CHICOPEE, Mass. – Elms College freshman Sarah Tatgenhorst (Winterport, Maine) was selected as the final New England Collegiate Conference Cross Country Rookie of the Week for the 2014 season, announced by the conference office Monday morning. This is the second Rookie of the Week award for Tatgenhorst during the 2014 season.

The Rookie of the Week honor caps off a successful weekend for Tatgenhorst, who helped guide the Blazers to a second-place finish at the NECC Championship Saturday afternoon. Sarah finished third overall on the individual leaderboard with a time of 20:38, posting the top finish among all newcomers to earn the NECC Rookie of the Year award. Tatgenhorst becomes the first Blazer to take home NECC Rookie of the Year honor after her successful freshman campaign.

Tatgenhorst and the Blazers will return to the course for the ECAC Division III New England Championship on Saturday, November 8^th.
