Sarah Tatgenhorst Receives NECC Rookie Honors

CHICOPEE, Mass. – Elms College freshman Sarah Tatgenhorst (Winterport, Maine) has been recognized as the New England Collegiate Conference Women's Cross Country Rookie of the Week, announced by the league office Monday morning. The award is Tatgenhorst's first career Rookie of the Week award.
Tatgenhorst posted the top finish among Blazers' runners at the Western New England Golden Bear Invitational, hosted by Western New England College, finishing 24th overall of 210 competitors with a time of 20:54. Sarah had the second-best time among NECC runners in the event. Tatgenhorst has recorded the top finish for the Blazers in all of their fall competitions.
Tatgenhorst and the rest of the Blazers women's cross country squad will return to action for the NECC Championships on November 1st.
