Women's Cross Country Competes Individually at Eagle Invitational

NASHUA, N.H. - The Elms College women's cross country team competed as individuals due to a course direction error in Friday evening's cross country Eagle Invitational hosted by Daniel Webster College at Pine Mills Park.

Originally slated to be a 5-kilometer, 3.1 mile race, half the field was directed incorrectly and instead ran a 6.2 mile race subsequently causing the race to be an individual only event.

Freshman Madison Boehm (Sutton, Mass.) and sophomore Stephanie Konstantinidis (Holyoke, Mass.) were among the group that did not get routed incorrectly and finished with times of 30:14 and 36:19 respectively.

Freshman Rachel Lehouillier (Belchertown, Mass.) clocked an impressive 47:18 to lead the group that suffered the course change, followed by Meghan Sullivan (Springfield, Mass.) (51:15) and freshman Emily Taylor (Ludlow, Mass.) (53:16). Elms' three final competitors each finished within a 16-second frame as senior Jennifer Cicero (Chicopee, Mass.) clocked a 54:04, followed by sophomore Gabrielle Calvanese's (Agawam, Mass.) 54:12 and sophomore Kerry Ashe's (Springfield, Mass.) 54:20.

Elms returns to action on Saturday, Sept. 24 when it hosts its annual Blazers Invitational at 11:00 a.m. at Chicopee Memorial State Park.
