Women’s Soccer Comes up Short Against DII American International College

Chicopee, MA - The Elms College women's soccer team hosted DII AIC on Wednesday night at Leary Field. After 88 minutes of back and forth action, AIC found the game winner.

The Blazers had several scoring opportunities but could not find the back of the net. Their best chance came in the 68th minute when sophomore Kayla Pasquel (North Attleboro, MA) ripped a shot that was pushed aside by the Yellow Jackets keeper.

The visitors nearly took the lead in the 74th minute off a shot from the top of the 18 yard box, but first year keeper Angela Picheo (Wood-Ridge, NJ) made a diving save and secured the rebound, keeping the game tied at (0-0).

The visitors would spoil the home game for the Blazers in the final minute. AIC was awarded a corner kick, after the ball was played into the box the Blazers were unable to clear which led to the game winning goal.

Elms is back in action on Wednesday 4/14 when they host Eastern Nazarene College at 5pm on Leary Field.
