Mackenzie LaRochelle Receives NEWBA Honor Roll Status

CHICOPEE, Mass. – Elms College junior Mackenzie LaRochelle (Chicopee, Mass.) has been selected to the New England Women's Basketball Association (NEWBA) Honor Roll, announced by the association Monday. LaRochelle joins senior Alexandra Marques (Newington, Conn.) as Blazers named to the NEWBA Honor Roll this season.

LaRochelle powered the Blazers offense during a 2-1 week for Elms, averaging 17.3 points, 9.7 rebounds and 4.7 assists. LaRochelle flirted with a double-double in a win over Newbury, logging 15 points, nine rebounds and six assists. LaRochelle notched her first double-double of the season with a game-high 23 points and 12 rebounds, with seven assists in an 84-69 win over Daniel Webster. LaRochelle added 14 points and eight rebounds in a battle at Mitchell.

LaRochelle and the Blazers will close out the first half of the season in a non-conference tilt with Western New England University at Picknelly Arena Saturday at Noon.
