CHICOPEE, Mass. – Elms College senior forward Denisha Parks (Fall River, Mass.) was named the 2014-15 New England Collegiate Conference Player of the Year, while senior forward JC Pickett (Chicopee, Mass.) earned Second Team honors, announced by the league office Monday morning. Parks becomes the second player to win back-to-back Player of the Year accolades, and third to win the award twice.

Parks had a banner year as senior, reaching the 2,000-point plateau in a January 22nd win over Southern Vermont, along with collecting her 1,000th career rebound in a win at Bard on December 13th. Denisha led the NECC in scoring with 21.4 points per game, and free throw percentage at 85.1%. Parks tied for third in the league in rebounding (9.5) and fourth in field goal percentage (43.5), earning an All-NECC First Team selection. Denisha racked up 13 double-doubles on the season, capped off with sixth career 20-20 performance with 27 points and 20 rebounds in a NECC First Round win over Daniel Webster. Parks owns 11 women's basketball program records including career points (2,248), career rebounds (1,271), and career steals (206).

Pickett earns her third NECC All-Conference selection, and first Second Team honor, after averaging nearly a double-double as a senior with 10.6 points and 9.5 rebounds. Pickett ranked third in the NECC in field goal percentage with a 45.8 clip, and fourth in rebounds per game and blocks per game (1.1). With 31 total blocks, JC set the new single season record for blocks, en route to become Elms all-time leader in blocked shots with 76. Pickett recorded 12 double-doubles, and netted a career-high 25 points in a win at Daniel Webster.
