CHICOPEE, Mass. – The Elms College men's soccer team continued their unbeaten roll in conference play, defeating visiting Becker College, 4-0, in a New England Collegiate Conference matchup at Leary Field Wednesday evening. Wednesday's match was Senior Day for the Blazers men's soccer program.

At halftime, the Blazers men's soccer program recognized their eight departing seniors: Angel Castro (Carolina, Puerto Rico), Joseph Coleman (Easthampton, Mass.), Josh DiNoto (Branford, Conn.), Anthony Nitri (Feeding Hills, Mass.), Joelle Reyes (Lynn, Mass.), Brendan Reynolds (Springfield, Mass.), Conor Rieker (Agawam, Mass.), and Thomas Rivers (Fayetteville, N.C.).

In the 14th minute of play, the Hawks were whistled for a foul just outside of their goal box, resulting in a free kick attempt. On the ensuing attempt, DiNoto curled a shot inside the near right goal post, staking the Blazers to a 1-0 lead.

With just over eight minutes remaining in the first half, Nitri launched a free kick from 30 yards out towards the front of the Hawks goal, where junior midfielder Safa Saady (Chicopee, Mass.) elevated over his defender and angled a header beyond the outstretched reach of Becker freshman goalie Joey Cameron (Jacksonville, Fla.), to extend the Elms advantage to 2-0. Less than five minutes later, Saady delivered again, off a pass from junior midfielder Lorenzo Rolocut (Somers, Conn.), burying a turn-and-shoot goal to the far upper corner, pushing the Blazers cushion to 3-0.

In the 66th minute, the Blazers dealt their final blow as Reyes one-touched a cross from freshman midfielder CJ Dabkowski (Springfield, Mass.), to send Elms to the 4-0 victory.

With the win, Elms improves to 8-6-3 on the season, and 5-0-1 in the NECC, while Becker drops to 2-16 overall, and 0-7 in the NECC. The Blazers will close out their regular season schedule with a trip to Daniel Webster College Saturday afternoon. Today's game closed out the regular season for the Hawks.
