Men's Golf Sits In Third Heading Into Final Day Of NECC Championship

WEST BOYLSTON, Mass. – The Elms College men's golf team sits in third place midway through the 2-18 New England Collegiate Conference tournament, with the final 18 holes awaiting on Sunday at Wachusett Country Club.

Chis Soderberg is in third place individually after an opening round 76 (+4), trailing Springfield College duo Mike Strong (73) and Jake Raichle (74). Frankie Murray is tied for 11th place after firing an 81. A trio of Blazers, Matt King, John Keegan and William Marchand, are tied for 14th with matching 83s on day one.

The Blazers finished with a team score of 323 on Saturday, just two strokes behind second-place Mitchell College (321). Springfield leads the tournament after a +17 round of 305. Elms is 27 shots clear of fourth-place Eastern Nazarene (350) and 59 ahead of Dean College (382).
