Blazer Golf Finishes Second At Castleton Invitational

RUTLAND, Vt. – The Elms College men's golf team wrapped up a second-place finish at the Castleton Invitational after a final-round 326 on Sunday, a nine-stroke improvement over the team's opening round.

Elms posted a total team score of 661, 13 strokes behind team champion Castleton and 17 clear of third-place SUNY Cobleskill.

Chris Soderberg finished fourth individually in the tournament after posting a final-round 82 for a total of 161. He finished four strokes behind medalist Jacob Erwin of Castleton. William Marchand was one stroke behind Soderberg and finished solo fifth after an 82 on Sunday. Josh Keaton posted the low round of the day for the Blazers, an 80, to shoot 168 for the tournament and tie for 10th. Matt King shot 82 on Sunday and tied for 12th while Frankie Murray shot 87 and finished tied for 15th.

The Blazers will be back in action for the 18-hole Emmanuel College Tournament on Tuesday.
