Chicopee, MA – The Elms College field hockey team picked up a win 3-0 over Sage College on senior day. The Blazers celebrated the careers of two STUDENT-athletes on the night, Carissa Ramirez (San Diego, CA) and Evelyn DeVaux (Wethersfield, CT).
The Blazers took the lead at the 13:09 mark of the first quarter when Ellie Serra (Palmer, MA) found the back of the cage from a Ramirez assist. Elms doubled its lead to (2-0) in the 20th minute when Erin Thibodeau (East Longmeadow, MA) finished and assist from Katie Jones (San Diego, CA).
The home team sealed the senior day victory in fitting style when Jones buried a goal off an assist from the two seniors, Ramirez and DeVaux.
Elms out-shot the visitors 18-11 on the day. Nora Newman ( ) picked up 9 saves in the win.
The Blazers finish their spring season with an impressive (3-0-1) record.
