Liquori Recognized for the 2nd Time as GNAC Goalkeeper of the Week

CHICOPEE, MA - Gianna Liquori (East Longmeadow, MA) was selected as the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Goalkeeper of the week for Women's Lacrosse. The Junior had a 1-1 week recording 28 saves.

The junior posted a .518 save percentage in a 1-1 week for the Blazers, stopping 28 of 54 shots overall. including 14 of 19 in just one half in a conference match up against the Monks shots overall.

The Blazers went up against the Albertus Magnus falcons earlier in the week where Liquori saved nine of 17 shots in three quarters. She succesfully completed 9 out of 12 clear attempts, in the 24-8 victory over the Falcons. 

Liquori finished the week on her home field against the Saint Joseph's College of Maine Monks where the goalie denied 14 goals in the first half of play. The Junior only allowed 2 of their 10 free position shots slip passed her and successfully managed 19 out of 23 clears during her minutes in the crease.

The East Longmeadow native also recorded her 100th career save over the weekend in the Conference match against the Monks! 

The Elms College women's Lacrosse team travels to Anna Maria College to challenge the AMCATS on Wednesday, April 12th @7PM.
