Lozada Named NECC Rookie Of The Week

MARSHFIELD, Mass. – Elms College freshman Kianna Lozada (Bayamon, P.R.) was honored as the New England Collegiate Conference Rookie of the Week, the league announced on Monday.

Lozada helped the Blazers go 3-0 on the week and improve their 2018 record to 6-0 as she picked up 70 digs in three matches. She had two 27-dig matches, doing so against Bridgewater State (Sept. 4) and Smith (Sept. 8). She added 16 digs at St. Joseph (Conn.) and had four aces during the week.

This is the first NECC honor for Lozada. The Blazers host Western New England on Sept. 11 before visiting UMass.-Dartmouth on Sept. 13 and University of New England on Sept. 15.
