Stewart Collects Fourth NECC Rookie Of The Week Honor

ATTLEBORO, Mass. – Elms College freshman Dakota Stewart (Victoria, Texas) was selected as the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Women's Volleyball Rookie of the Week, announced by the league office Monday. Stewart picks up her fourth Rookie of the Week honors, and second back-to-back selection.

Stewart contributed across the board for the Blazers during a 3-1 week, racking up 95 assists, 32 digs, 18 service aces, and 10 kills. In a three-set NECC sweep of Newbury, Stewart served up a career-high eight aces with 21 assists with three kills. Stewart logged her eighth and ninth double-double of the season with 22 assists and 11 digs against Fitchburg State and 27 assists and 12 digs against Maine-Fort Kent. During a 3-0 NECC victory at Dean, Stewart tallied 25 assists with eight digs and five aces.

Stewart and the Blazers will be back on the court Monday night in a non-conference match against Mount Ida at Picknelly Arena at 7:00 p.m.
