CHICOPEE, Mass. -  The Elms College women's soccer team rolled past Newbury College in an New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) clash, 6-0, Wednesday night at Leary Field.  It was the annual "Pink Out Game" for the team recognizing Breast Cancer Awareness.  The Blazers extend their record to 10-5, and 3-1 in the NECC, while Newbury falls to 1-4 in conference, and 2-12 on the season.

Senior midfielder Mackenzie LaRochelle (Chicopee, Mass.) opened up the scoring just over six minutes into the first half off of a nice pass from classmate Angelina Estrada (Springfield, Mass.).  LaRochelle would return the favor when she assisted Estrada on a cross to the near post and Estrada chipped the ball past the keeper to make it 2-0 Blazers in the 14th minute.

The Blazers would keep pouring it on in the first half.  Junior midfielder Kelsey Shea (Belchertown, Mass.) would score off her sixth goal of the season on a header in the 25th minute to extend the lead to 3-0. Sophomore Haley Richard (Monson, Mass.) continued the scoring for Elms when scored off a touch pass from junior Shannon Denault (Chicopee, Mass) in the 35th minute to give the Blazers a 4-0 lead heading into halftime.

Senior forward Brie Voight (Springfield, Mass.) got the scoring going for the Blazers in the second half on a tucking a cross in traffic past the keeper.  The score gave Voight her team-leading eighth goal of the season, while LaRochelle picked up her second assist on the game.  The final tally for the Blazers came freshman Nicole Collins (Stratford, Conn.) for her first career collegiate goal, sending Elms to the 6-0 victory.

The Blazers dominated on offense and defense, outshooting Newbury 37-0.  Elms sophomore keeper Rebecca Molin (West Hartford, Conn.) logged her seventh clean sheet of the season, while Newbury goalie Noelle Saas (Randolph, Mass.) had 15 saves on the day.

Elms returns to the field when they travel to Southern Vermont College for an NECC battle Saturday at 1:00 p.m.  Newbury makes an NECC road trip to Mitchell Saturday for a Noon kickoff.
