Delgado Named NECC Defensive Player of the Year

MANSFIELD, MA – The NECC announced its 2020 Men's Volleyball All-Conference teams and major award winners on Thursday morning.  The awards were voted on by the conference's seven coaches following the conclusion of an abbreviated season due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Elms College dominated the All-Conference teams, with five selections, and  Junior libero Antonio Delgado (Aibonito, P.R.) took home NECC Defensive Player of the Year.

Delgado played an integral role in Elms' success, helping the Blazers to an 11-9 overall record, which included a win over #7 St. John Fisher.  Elms led the league with 900 digs and 12.33 digs per set, behind Delgado's league-leading 3.14 digs per set. His 157 overall digs was also good for third in the NECC.
