Men's Soccer Comes Up Short At Skidmore

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – The Elms College men's soccer team ran out of time in their comeback bid at Skidmore on Saturday, falling 2-1.

After a scoreless first half, the Thoroughbreds built a 2-0 lead with goals in the 56th and 67th minutes. Elms cut the deficit in half when John Goebel (Norton, Mass.) scored in the 84th minute. But Elms (0-3) wasn't able to get the equalizer.

Skidmore (2-1-1) owned a 27-7 advantage in total shots and a 15-5 lead in shots on-goal but Blazer goalkeeper Julian Brosi came up with 13 saves to keep Elms in the game. Pedro Duarte had four shots for Elms, including three shots on-goal.

Elms wraps up the Skidmore College Tournament against RPI on Sunday. Skidmore will take on Plattsburgh State on Sept. 11.
