CHICOPEE, Mass. – The Elms College men's soccer team fell to the visiting Daniel Webster Eagles home at Leary field this afternoon. The Eagles handed the Blazers a 4-0 setback furthering their undefeated record in conference play.

Forward Ian Hutchinson (Litchfield ,N.H.) lead the way for the Eagles netting two goals, Marcus Marshall (Monrovia, Liberia) and Joseano Tavares (Lawrence, Mass.) each aided in the victory as well lighting up the scoreboard with one a piece.

Play started out strong as the contest got underway with both teams navigating their possessions to the opposing's defensive end. The Blazers attempted to get on the board with two early shots within the first few minutes, but they were collected with ease by Eagles keeper Sean Hamilton (Brookline, N.H.). Daniel Webster sent four shots near Elms' keeper Nicholson Pennent (St. Andrew, Jamaica) but he was able to keep them out of the scoring column until the 21:54 mark when Marshall broke through the midfield and was able to fake out Pennet with a low side shot. Within minutes after the initial tally the eagles soared into the scoring column once more as a Tavares ball found the feet of  Hutchinson who  in turn connected it to the left corner of the net moving the blazers deficit up to two.

The Eagles were able to keep this lead going into the second although Elms had a chance to even the score with a high shot by James Kukarchuk (West Springfield, Mass.) at the 34:33 mark.

At the start of the second the blazers had a strong chance to crack the scoreboard as a ball played to the head of Safa Saady (Baghdad, Iraq) narrowly missed the net and hit off the crossbar, Saady tried again minutes later but the low shot was collected by Hamilton.

At the 54:20 mark Eagles forward Hutchinson connected for the second time off of a Eusebio Marote (Lowell, Mass) ball played in from the center that found its way to the back of the net 18 yards out. The Eagles would nurse this lead until the end adding in the fourth goal of the night at the 81:33 mark off of a thru ball played from Marote to the feet of Taveres who then fired a shot off of the post and into the net.

The Blazers fired ten shot attempts on the afternoon, the Eagles owned the category with 18. Hamilton collected five saves and Pennent was able to make nine stops in net for Elms.

The Blazers will be back on the pitch next Wednesday as they travel to Becker.
