Buchanon Named NECC Rookie of the Week
ATTLEBORO, Mass. - Elms College freshman men's basketball player Jerry Buchanon (Windsor, Conn.) was named the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Rookie of the Week as announced by the league office on Monday.
Buchanon averaged 10.0 points per game while shooting 63.2-percent from the field during a Blazers' three-game conference win streak. The freshman guard scored 14 points and grabbed four rebounds in a win over Wheelock College and contributed 10 points along with five assists and six steals in a victory over Lesley University. He also scored six points in 15 minutes in a win against Mitchell College en route to winning his first NECC weekly accolade of the season.
