Sebastyanski Earns Seven Strikeouts in Baseball's Lose to Colby-Sawyer at Home
HOLYOKE, Mass. - The Elms College Baseball team hosted Colby-Sawyer College for a conference game on Sunday afternoon at Mackenzie Stadium.
BASICS
Score: Elms College 0 | Colby-Sawyer College 10
Records: Blazers 9-14, 4-4 (GNAC) | Chargers 7-16, 3-3 (GNAC)
HOW IT HAPPENED
The game would remain scoreless through three innings, as Elms graduate student pitcher Kyle Sebastyanski (Auburn, Mass.) would keep Colby-Sawyer from scoring any runs. However, the Blazers offense could not break through, seeing a pair of singles by junior outfielder/pitcher Nason Busca (Windsor, Conn.) and first year infielder/pitcher Brycen Diaz (Andrews, Texas). Gradute student infielder AJ Cook (Mendon, Mass.) and senior outfielder George Chaya Jr. (Methuon, Mass.) would both reach base and steal a base. In the fourth inning, Sebastyanski surrendered three runs. More importantly though, he had seven strikeouts to keep the game from getting out of hand and keeping Elms in striking distance. However, after he exited the game, the Chargers would put a flurry of runs on the board, putting Elms in a huge hole late in the game. Senior pitchers Trevor Nohilly (Bristol, Conn.) and Devin Kazarian (Westerly, R.I.), along with junior pitcher Justin Saad (Waterford, Conn.), would come into pitch throughout the game, trying to put a stop to their opponent's offense. Kazarian would pitch one and ⅔ scoreless innings, but without any momentum on offense, the Blazers would fail 10-0 to Colby-Sawyer.
