Baseball Aids in Chicopee Tree Lighting Ceremony

CHICOPEE, Mass. - The Elms College baseball team participated in the annual Chicopee tree lighting ceremony on Friday, December 7.

The Blazers' baseball squad joined Mayor Michael D. Bissonnette and Santa for Chicopee's annual Christmas holiday lighting with festivities beginning at 4:30 p.m. this afternoon.

The baseball players helped direct traffic for the event, providing a great service to the community to kick off the holiday season.

Santa arrived in the city by fire truck and the evening included a plethora of fun-filled activities for families until 7:00 p.m. in Market Square at City Hall and the old city library. Mrs. Claus and the elves helped Santa hand out goodie bags, and a photographer was on hand to take freephotos of children with Santa.
