Fairy-Tale Finish: Sports on Earth Article

'Sports on Earth' columnist Chuck Culpepper chronicled the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Championship cross country meet on Saturday afternoon, focusing on Elms College's senior runner John Southworth (Springfield, Mass.). 

Culpepper is a columnist for 'Sports on Earth' which is website owned by USA Today and Major League Baseball. 

An excerpt from Culpepper's article: A Fairy-Tale Finish 

[John] Southworth's pace did seem to quicken as they reached the back edge of the park. [Matt] Hegarty would point out how he thrives amid people and encouragement. David Southworth would say, "He knew the end was in sight so he was happy." [Matt] Dyer would say, "It was even faster than we expected." Hegarty would say, "He was tough out there today."
