Chicopee, MA - The Elms College Women's Basketball Team dropped a non-conference matchup against Amherst College at home on Wednesday night.

How it happened:
Coming out of the break, Elms took on Amherst in a non-conference matchup. Amherst College was stellar early defensively, as they didn't allow the Blazers to score for the first 5 minutes of the game. Elms struggled to score early, but Jade Lewis contributed a couple of points to limit the deficit at the end of the first quarter to 10 for Elms. The Blazers continued to struggle to score during the second quarter, depending on Brianna Metellus and Jade Lewis to make a bulk of the contributions. Amherst went on a huge run in which the Blazers had no answer for. The Mammoths pushed the lead out to 50-18 at halftime.
Amherst continued to push their lead out during the third quarter. A couple of quick baskets by Talia Uribe, Julianne Lebow, and Jade Lewis cut the deficit to 25, but the Blazers never got any closer. With a huge lead to play behind, Amherst continued to limit the Blazers on offense, taking the 85-41 win.
