Coach Parks Collects Her First Win at Elms as The Team Blazed Their Way Past the Leopards
CHICOPEE, MA - On Saturday afternoon the Elms College Women's Basketball team stormed by the Wentworth Institute of Technology Leopards 64-42 for the final score.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The first quarter would not open up in the Blazers favor as they collected eight fouls to the Leopards one. All seven of WIT's points would be cashed in from the foul line to build up an early lead to start the game. Elms would turn the 7-4 deficit to a 13-11 lead finishing the first with back to back transition lay-ups from sophomore Jenny Gorski (Vernon, CT) to close out the first. With the energy from the first carried into the second the Blazers held onto the lead as they added twelve more points to the board closing out the half 25-19, Elms on top.
The Blazers do not skip a beat returning from the halftime meeting as they turn a four point lead into a twelve point lead as they put up 24 points in the third quarter. Senior Rahmia Johnston (Trumbull, CT) matched the Leopards points by cashing in twelve points, going 2-2 from outside the arch registering a field goal percentage of 71.4% in just the third quarter. The Blazers would continue to play controlled defense shutting down the Leopards offensive attempts, closing out the game 64-42 for the final.
The Elms College Women's Basketball team would collect their first win of the 2023-24 season, along with Coach Parks first win as the Head Coach of the Blazers!
