HOW IT HAPPENED
Elms would start the contest with two early unassisted goals from first-years Jesse Hagen (Cold Spring, NY) and Luciano Jordan Canino (Dalton, MA), but Saint Joseph's would score three-straight goals to take a 3-2 lead. Sophomore Connor Tobin (Northampton, MA) would tie the game up, but the Monks would score three more goals to head into the first break with a 6-3 lead over the Blazers. The second quarter would see Saint Joseph's score six unanswered goals to head into halftime with a 12-3 lead.
Hagen put a jolt of offensive life early in the third quarter, after scoring a second unassisted goal, but the Monks regained the momentum by scoring another six goals throughout the quarter. The fourth quarter would see three goals from the Blazers; Canino, junior Matthew Salerno (Campbell Hall, NY), and first-year Ethan Menard (West Springfield, MA), but Saint Joseph's would be too much for Elms to handle in their program's first road contest.
