Symon Smith Named NECC Player of the Week

ATTLEBORO, Mass. – Elms College senior Symon Smith (Oklahoma City, Okla.) was selected as the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Men's Basketball Player of the Week, announced by the league office Monday. This is the second time this season Smith has received Player of the Week status.

Smith powered the Blazers offense in the final week of the season, averaging 35.3 points, shooting 46.3% from the floor and 42.1% from three-point range, with six rebounds, 2.7 steals and 1.3 assists. Smith poured in 36 points at Newbury, followed by a 30-point performance in a nail bitter against Southern Vermont. At Lesley, Smith registered the second-most points in a game in program history with 40 points and seven rebounds, becoming the 10th player in program history to reach the 1,000-point plateau.
