ATTLEBORO, Mass. – Elms College senior guard Jerry Buchanon (Windsor, Conn.) was named the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Men's Basketball Player of the Week, announced by the league office Monday afternoon. Buchanon takes home his first Player of the Week honor this season, and the second of his Blazers career.

Buchanon notched a trio of 20-point performances and reached a career milestone during a 2-1 week for the Blazers. In a 78-60 win at Rhode Island College, Buchanon netted 21 points with six assists and matched a career-high with seven steals. During a hard-fought loss to Wheelock, Jerry scored a game-high 27 points while grabbing a season-high seven rebounds. Buchanon became the 8th member of the Blazers' 1000-point club with 29 points, all coming in the first half, during a 101-61 rout over Mitchell.

For the season, Buchanon leads the conference in scoring, averaging 25.6 points per game, and steals per game (2.9), while ranking second in three-point field goal percentage (50.0) and sixth in assists per game with a 3.9 mark.

Buchanon and the Blazers will wrap up the first half of the 2015-16 season with a road trip to Johnson & Wales University Saturday for a 2:00 p.m. tip.
