HOW IT HAPPENED
Game 1
Junior Henry Rondon (Ansonia, CT) would take the mound for the Blazers in game one, pitching 8.0 innings, six scoreless, allowing six runs, five earned, and threw six strikeouts. The two sides would keep the game scoreless until the bottom of the sixth inning. Throughout the first six innings, both sides would see defensive plays to get out of jams. In the bottom of the second, a pop up to graduate student Tyler Galenski (Wilbraham, MA) led to a double play after he threw out a base runner at first base to senior Josh Nohilly (Bristol, CT) to end the inning. The Mariners would be the first to score after scoring two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning. The Blazers would get on the board after a two-run home run to left-centerfield by Galenski, bringing home senior AJ Cook (Mendon, MA), to tie the game. The Mariners would quickly respond in the bottom half of the inning, scoring four more runs to clinch the first game of the doubleheader, 6-2.

Game 2
Elms would have senior Kyle Sebastyanski (Auburn, MA) start for game two of the doubleheader. Sebastyanski would pitch six innings with eight strikeouts, four scoreless innings, but allowed six runs and ten hits in the afternoon. Mitchell would get on the board first after a home run to left field in the bottom of the fourth inning. The Mariners would add to their lead the next inning, scoring four more runs. In the top of the sixth inning, the Blazers would score two runs after a single by graduate student Josh Pasini (Enfield, CT) would drive in Cook, which would be followed by another single by senior Justin Miller (Prospect, CT) to bring in senior Seamus Higgins (Rutland, MA) to bring the score to 2-4. Elms would score an additional five runs in the top of the seventh inning after three-run triple by Higgins to drive in Cook, sophomore Chase Prestia (Newington, CT), and senior Blake Bastos (Mineola, NY). Pasini would then hit a sacrifice fly to right field, and Higgins would score, followed by a double by Miller to bring home senior CJ Moriarty (Glastonbury, CT) to take the lead 7-5. Senior Camden Murphy (Berlin, CT) would come into the game in the bottom of the seventh inning to relieve Sebastyanski, where he would throw two innings with a strikeout, but he would also allow ten runs and hits. The Mariners would score two runs in that inning to tie the game, but the Blazers would briefly take back the lead after a solo home run to center field by Bastos. Then in the bottom half of the inning, Mitchell would score eight runs to take back the lead and secure the sweep 15-8.
