ATTLEBORO, Mass. – Elms College senior Kyle Plater (Northfield, Mass.) was selected as the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Baseball Pitcher of the Week, while freshman Jacob Graveline (Palmer, Mass.) was tabbed as Rookie of the Week, in an announcement from the league office Monday. Both players are taking home their first weekly NECC award.

Platner limited Southern Vermont to one hit in six scoreless innings as the Blazers completed a doubleheader sweep with a 3-1 victory in the nightcap. Platner struck out six batters while only issuing one walk in the win.

Graveline provided a pair of clutch performances for the Blazers, picking up a win and a save in two appearances. Graveline improved his record to 3-3 while holding Lesley to two hits in six scoreless innings with a season-high seven strikeouts. In a 2-0 win over Southern Vermont, Graveline came out of the bullpen and delivered his first career save, limiting the Mountaineers to two hits with five strikeouts in three scoreless frames. For the week, Graveline posted a 0.00 ERA in nine innings of work with 12 strikeouts.

Platner, Graveline and the Blazers are back on the diamond with a non-conference road trip to Amherst College Tuesday for a 3:00 p.m. first pitch.
