Black Experience Summit 2021

                                                                                      "Underscoring Resilience: A Call to Action"

Join us on Friday, February 26th, 2021 from 12-4pm virtually for the 4th annual Black Experience Summit at Elms College. This summit brings people from various disciplines and backgrounds together to learn from each other and strengthen our community. The summit is free and open to the public.

This year's keynote speaker is Gretchen Givens Generett, Ph.D., Interim Dean, School of Education and Noble J. Dick Endowed Chair in Community Outreach at Duquesne University. Her address is titled "Stories of Equity and Excellence: Deconstructing Complex Educational Narratives for Justice."

  • Brent Lewis, Ph.D. (James Madison University)
  • Chazz Robinson, M.Ed.(University of Buffalo)
  • Sr. Melinda Adrienne Pellerin, SSJ (Diocese of Springfield)
  • Keshawn Dodds, M.Ed. (The Boys & Girls Club Family Center)
  • Antoinette Bonnie Candia-Bailey, Ph.D. (Elms College)

Opening remarks will be delivered by Harry E. Dumay, Ph.D., MBA, President of Elms College.

The Black Experience Summit is hosted by the Elms College President's Office and the Office of Diversity and Engagement.
