Blazers Sweep Bay Path To Extend Win Streak To Seven

CHICOPEE, Mass. – The Elms College women's volleyball winning streak ballooned to seven on Tuesday night after the Blazers took a 3-0 win over Bay Path in New England Collegiate Conference play in Picknelly Arena.

Elms won 25-10, 25-18, 25-7 to improve to 13-3 overall and 5-0 in the NECC. Bay Path drops to 6-10 on the season and 2-3 in league play.

Elms hit .191 in the game and delivered 15 aces. Ayanna Meadows (Springfield, Mass.) and Govanna Rosado (Humaco, P.R.) were each responsible for five Blazer aces while Dakota Stewart (Victoria, Texas) added four.

Kianna Lozada (Bayamon, P.R.) tallied a match-high 24 digs for the Blazers and Stewart had 23 assists. Aimee Jolicoeur (Hampden, Mass.) led all players with six kills and hit .500 while Sabrina Christie (Agawam, Mass.), Meadows and Hannah Pichardo (South Glen Falls, N.Y.) each added five.

Bay Path hit -.129 in the contest. Lisa Sikop (Easthampton, Mass.) and Lydia Clifford (Coventry, R.I.) each had three kills for the Wildcats while Lexi Cears (Agawam, Mass.) finished with eight assists. Joanne Nazario (Springfield, Mass.) had 17 digs for Bay Path.

The Blazers will be on the road for their next two games, visiting Fitchburg State in non-conference action on Oct. 11 before returning to NECC at Eastern Nazarene on Oct. 13. Bay Path continues NECC play at Dean on Oct. 12.
