Blazers Tripped Up In Four Sets At UMass.-Dartmouth

DARTMOUTH, Mass. - Despite winning the first set, the Elms College women's volleyball team fell 3-1 at UMass.-Dartmouth on Thursday night. Elms won 25-19 in the first but fell 25-18, 25-19 and 25-20 in the final three.

The Blazers fall to 6-2 on the season after dropping their second straight contest. UMass.-Dartmouth remains unbeaten, improving to 5-0 with the win.

Danielle Redding (Las Vegas, Nev.) had an 11-kill, 11-dig double-double to lead the Blazers. Hannah Adams (Deerfield, Mass.) added six kills for Elms and Ayanna Meadows (Springfield, Mass.) finished with five. Dakota Stewart (Victoria, Texas) had 16 assists and 11 digs and Caroline Locke (West Springfield, Mass.) tallied a team-high 15 digs.

The Corsairs out-hit Elms .146-.074 in the match and dealt 16 aces while Elms served up six. UMass.-Dartmouth finished with a slim, 67-65 edge in digs. Three Corsairs notched double-digit kills, led by Nicole Silverman's 17. Amanda LaCroix added 11 and Kristy Walton finished with 10.

Elms continues its four-match road trip at University of New England on Sept. 15.
