Blazers Pick Up Another Sweep

NORTHAMPTON, Mass. – The Elms College women's volleyball team earned its fourth three-set win on Saturday, beating Smith College to extend its winning streak to six. The Blazers won 25-21; 25-21; 25-23.

Danielle Redding (Las Vegas, Nev.) led Elms with 14 kills in the contest while Hannah Adams (Deerfield, Mass.) added 10 to go along with 18 digs. Dakota Stewart (Victoria, Texas) picked up 29 assists and eight digs and Kianna Lozada collected 27 digs for the Blazers (6-0).

Smith (0-5) got eight kills from Caleigh Johnson and seven each from Amy Hagen and Claire Cicchetti. Anna Lynch led the Pioneers with 29 digs.

Elms hit .093 as a team in the match and held Smith to a -.044 hitting percentage. The Pioneers held a 9-7 advantage in service aces while the Blazers led in total digs 76-72.

Elms will look to extend its winning streak when it hosts Western New England on Sept. 11 before embarking on a four-match road trip. The Pioneers return to action at Bay Path on Sept. 11.
